Tired And Complacent
02:27
|
|

Why do our tired eyes wake up, to please?
Not aware of how their minds work,
We can't understand what they see.
So each day begins with prescription speed, antidepressants
Nothing breeds/reaps Nothing

Life; Sentence

Eyes still stuck on yesterdays news
wire shut my fucking mouth
before the truth and all my thoughts fall out
hollowed my past, haunting my present
you'll never grasp the fullest extent
of how we've obscured each others paths
I stepped in their trap again
this time they got me
we all make mistakes, my friend
why can't you just see?
too often we are not without apprehension
cutting each other off, insisting that the other goes first
crucible of truth be held in every verse
I'll hold back convictions with every breath
wanting to tell you
withheld
biting my tongue instead

Conversationalists
02:10
|
|
||
Thank you!
To those who keep me up 'til dawn
No good can come of this friendship
we try to make it work anyways
anyways, whats the point of this?
keeping loose ties, all but discussionless
open up our eyes, we are just shy conversationalists
too often our foot in our mouths
at the time when we most need to shout
I think it's about time you open and share that stale, closed mind
I know I'm not the best but I've got some good ideas
so lean in close to me and I will whisper them to you
I can tell you what I've thought about our co-inspired lives and how I felt as I fell over myself looking for your eyes

Breathe Unease
01:57
|
|
||
Pain at the base of my chest
a stitch where my heart rests
pull myself back from death and take a breath
I'll say what I've kept back
you try to insist that we'll always be here
my skull is so thick I guess I was unaware
it wasn't meant to last
we must hold ourselves accountable
you've told your side straight
so here's mine, ten months late
I've done wrong
you laughed as I lied so we'd carry on
behind that smile, all the while
choking down furry and the truth is all buried deep
along with the words that we had promises to keep
we held promises that wouldn't keep
